Terms & Conditions

IMPORTANT: Prior to booking please ensure we are right type of venue for your stay.
Bookings: Please note we only accept firm bookings, for more information please refer to our cancellation policy [point 2] below.


Noise: We are designated a quiet site so noise must be kept to a minimum, playing of music is not permitted. We are not a suitable location for boisterous or loud groups.
 

Groups: We do not accept Hen, Stag, 18th or 21st birthday groups. Additional security deposits may apply for larger group bookings.
 

Dogs: A maximum of 2 well behaved dogs are allowed in certain accommodation. Dogs must be on a lead at all times and must not be left unattended in accommodation.
 

Leave it how you found it: We operate a leave it how you find it policy. Additional charges will apply if when you depart your accommodation is left in an unsuitable state.


Deposit: On arrival a £50 cabins / £100 Bothies/Contained Bliss pre authorisation is required on a debit or credit card prior to collection of keys. Additional deposit maybe required for adult groups.

All bookings are subject to the following terms and conditions:
1) A payment of 30% of the price of your stay (or if lower the price of your stay) must be made to confirm your booking or a valid voucher. Any outstanding balances are due 6 weeks before commencement of stay. If your stay is booked within 6 weeks of commencement, full payment must be paid upon booking. In the event of non-payment of this balance, we reserve the right to cancel the holiday and no refund will be given.


2) All accepted booking are firm bookings. If you are forced to cancel, please contact us by email. In the event of cancellation we will attempt to re-let the property and if we are successful can offer you either a refund (less administration fee) or alternative dates - This offer of a refund only applies if you make payments, including any final balance payment when due. If the property is not re-let you will be held liable to pay the full balance due on the property you have booked. You are advised to take out Holiday Cancellation Insurance to cover this eventually.


3. We will try to accommodate additional occupants up to the limit of each property, but this can only be guaranteed if included at time of booking. Due to limits on maximum number of guests on the site, we may not be able to add additional guests at a later date. We do not accept reduction in guest numbers less than 6 weeks from arrival date.


4) In the event of exceptional circumstances a cancellation occurs by us, our liability shall be limited to the return in full the monies paid.


5) Only the families/persons quoted when booking are allowed to stay at the property. No third parties are allowed to stay at the property and bookings are only transferable with our prior agreement. The person named as party lead on the booking is responsible for the group and liable for any damage caused and/or monies outstanding.


6) The owner is not liable to the guest, or members of the guest's party for the loss or damage to any belongings of any of them.


7) As owners we shall not be responsible for the death or personal injury to a guest or loss, damage or accident to personal property.


8) In the event of misbehaviour or other inappropriate behaviour we reserve the right to terminate the let without any refund of monies.


9) A maximum of 2 well-behaved dogs are allowed in certain specified properties, dog stays must be booked. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times whilst on site. Please bring a dog basket and do not allow dogs to climb on beds. Dogs must be kept under proper control so that they do not affect other guests. Dogs must not be left alone in the property and must not be allowed to foul the area. You are liable for any damage caused by your dog/s.


10) The owner or their representatives shall be allowed access at any reasonable time during occupancy for the purpose of emergency maintenance or repair or any other need.


11) Our cabins/bothies are let on a leave it how you find it basis'. If following your departure your cabin is left excessively messy or dirty which requires additional cleaning /setting up you will be charged an additional cleaning supplement. 


12) Guests are responsible for the condition of the property and the furniture and fittings therein. Whilst accepting that the property is cleaned between 'lets' the guest shall leave the property in the same state of cleanliness and general order in which it was found.


13) We ask that any breakages or faulty equipment be reported so that we may replace them. 


14) In the case of breakages / damage, a charge will be made onto the payment card used either when checking in or when making the booking. If payment is not made via payment card an invoice will be issued which is payable within 7days. We reserve the right to hand any unpaid amount to a third party debt recovery service. 


15) All services are subject to availability we are not liable should outages occur beyond our control. 


16)Camp fires and BBQ's may not be permitted during exceptional dry spells.


17) Where you have special requirements, such as booking activities please specify upon booking and we shall endeavour to do our up most to fulfil your requirements.


18) It should be noted that there is a large pond near the properties and various small lakes around the farm. It is important that young children are supervised at all times.


19) We operate a strictly no smoking policy inside the properties, toilets and kitchen area. A charge of £200 to de-fumigate areas will be made if guests smoke.


20) Visiting horses must be accompanied with their equine passports, and must be inoculated for equine flu and tetanus. You are liable for any damage caused by animals.


21) On check in we require a pre-authorisation onto a valid credit/debit card as a deposit £50 for cabins, £100 for Bothies/Contained Bliss – certain groups of 3 or more adults a group security bond is required; £100 cabins, £200 bothies. Security Bonds - These are held on certain group bookings against noise, unsuitable behaviour and damage. Security bonds are payable either with the balance of your stay 6 weeks prior to arrival or at check in – we will advise you if a security bond applies. We will confirm in writing if a bond has been retained and the reasons for this. A charge will be made for lost keys.


22) Reception for check in is open until 7pm (this is the last time we undertake hot tub inductions, if you arrive later than 7pm you will need to receive your induction the following morning). We accept late arrivals between 7pm and 9:30pm by prior arrangement. There is a £20 late arrival fee for arrivals after 9:30pm.


23) Our site is not suitable for noisy or boisterous groups, following guest feedback we are a ‘no music site’.


24) If the behaviour of you or members of your group act in a manner to cause other guests or staff, disruption, discomfort or distress you will be liable for any refunds provided to other guests and additional staff time. Our decision in this regard is final.


25) We do not accept Stag or Hen groups - if you arrive and it is apparent you are such a group you will not be allowed access to the properties and no refund will be given. If it becomes apparent during your stay that you are such a group we reserve the right to double the cost of your stay, if you decide not to leave.


26) Privacy: We will never pass your details to a third party unless required to do so by law.


27) Where a third party is used to deliver external activities, our liability is limited to any amount paid. We are not responsible for cancellations, or disruptions due unavailability of 3rd party provider for any reason. Liability insurance is held by external providers and your contract is directly with the provider.


28) Electricity is included in our tariff, however this does not extend to the charging of electric vehicles. A separate charge is liable for the charging of EV and this must be arranged in advance in order that we can managed consumption across the site. We are not liable should an EV charging point not be available unless it is pre-booked.

1. Booking and Cancellations

All bookings taken are firm and must be paid for at the time of booking. If you wish to cancel your booking, please email us, active@gorsebank.com and we will try to re-book your slot.

Over 14 days notice refund of monies paid less £7.50 admin fee.
Over 7 days notice 75% refund of monies paid
Over 72 hours notice 50% of monies paid
Less than 72hours notice - No refunds

Please check that all members of your party are suitable to take part - you can see full details at our website www.gorsebank.com –but the main criteria is that all participants must weigh between 45kg and 108kg and be 10 years or older. All riders will be weighed prior to commencing activities and if you are outside the specified weight limits you will not be able to participate – no refund will be given.

Participants under the age of 16 years of age must be accompanied by an appropriate adult.

2. Consequences of failure to turn up

If you have made a booking and fail to turn up for this on the day, you will not be refunded, nor will you be able to reschedule your activity.

An email Booking Confirmation is sent upon booking and is the responsibility of the purchaser to check that the dates and times for the booking are correct upon receipt of confirmation.

3. Amendments to your Booking

Should you wish to add extra people onto your activity, please call us with prior notice and availability will be checked. We cannot guarantee we will have the availability to do this. Full pre-payment for the extra attendees will be required at the time of booking.

4. Liability of Gorsebank

In any event Gorsebank shall not be liable for death or personal injury or any loss suffered by the customer or its guests arising out of the booking. This limitation of liability shall also extend to any loss or damage sustained to property or belongings of the client or any of the client's guests or for any further costs, demands or expenses incurred or suffered by the customer arising out of the booking. Gorsebank will not be liable for any cancellation of or alteration to the booking or any loss or damage to the customer arising out of circumstances beyond its control including but not limited to any act of god, natural disaster or act of terrorism. Any damage caused to any of the equipment hired to you by Gorsebank will be paid in full by the individual responsible or the card holder who made the original booking within 7 days.

If weather and grounds conditions are unsuitable to undertake your tour, our liability is limited to the refund of monies paid for your tour. We are not liable for any consequential losses or costs.

5. Activity Timing

Gorsebank endeavour to run all activities and events as strictly to stated time schedule as possible and therefore appreciate your prompt arrival for activities. Should activity participants arrive late, the activity session will still finish at the scheduled time. We reserve the right to cancel an event without refund, in the event of the late arrival of participants; under no circumstances would Gorsebank pay any compensation for such cancellation of any event or activity.

6. Safety

It is the responsibility of participants to ensure that they have understood all briefing instruction and each participant must sign our safety disclaimers prior to participation to confirm their understanding of this. You agree to follow all instructions issued by your instructor and understand your tour maybe terminated at any time, without refund, if you fail to follow instructions. Gorsebank reserve the right to refuse participation to any person who appears to be under the influence of alcohol or under the influence of drugs, or for any other reason at the discretion of Gorsebank. In the event of non-compliance with Gorsebank representatives, events may be terminated without refund. All Gorsebank Segways events are run to high standards. Participants recognise that in particular, all events involve some element of risk and participation in activities and events is on the understanding that participants accept this risk.

If you are unable to demonstrate sufficient control of your Segway during the introductory training you will not be permitted to continue on the tour and no refund will be given. Our decision in this regard is final.

7. Damages and Losses

Any damages, loss or theft of equipment used in your activity/s will be charged for accordingly to the cost of the equipment on the day by the person responsible or the person who made the original booking. Failure to listen to any instruction from an instructor may result in the termination of your activity session. No refunds will be given under this circumstance.New paragraph
